Upkestra AI Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 29, 2026 | By My Side Labs | App: Upkestra AI (com.bymysidelabs.upkestra)
At a glance
- There is no sign-up, and we do not run any Upkestra server of our own.
- Your app list, app usage records, and what the on-device AI has learned are never sent off your phone.
- Ads (Google AdMob), usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase), notification delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and daily reminder settings (Firebase Remote Config) are processed by Google.
- If you allow Android notifications, daily optimization reminders, news, and occasional ads and offers are all turned on together. You can turn them all off with “Upkestra notifications” in “Settings”.
- Information on your phone is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app.

1. Information processed only on your phone
Basic optimization works without asking for any permission. The app checks the information below on your phone and does not send app-level details anywhere.
- The list of installed apps (apps on your home screen, excluding system apps)
- Screen-less entry points that each app publishes (a ContentProvider or a partner app’s preparation service)
- Run results: how many apps were prepared, failed, or deferred, and how long it took
“AI personalized optimization” is optional. Only after you read the in-app notice and allow usage access yourself in Android settings does the app read the information below on your phone.
- App names, last-used time, and recent usage frequency and duration
- Apps you usually use at times of day similar to now
- Which app you actually opened right after running Upkestra AI (counted only on your phone)
This information is used only to decide which frequently used apps to prepare first. Raw usage records are not stored; only scores and totals are kept in the app’s private storage, and they are never used for advertising. If you revoke usage access, the app deletes this learned data and the related consent state.
2. Information stored on your phone and backups
- Run results and run counts
- Learned preparation settings per app, and “AI personalized optimization” scores (if turned on)
- Display settings, notification choices, daily reminder schedule, and review prompt and ad display state
This information is kept until you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. General settings such as display settings may be included in Android backups (Google Account backup and device transfer). Per-app learned data, scores derived from usage records, run counts, and notification registration state are excluded from backups.
3. Notifications
On Android 13 and later, the app asks for notification permission once on first launch. Users who did not allow it before may be asked once more after an app update.
If you allow notifications in the Android dialog, all the notifications below are turned on. There is no separate consent step just for ads and offers, and no separate question about receiving them at night.
- “Daily optimization”: a once-a-day reminder to optimize. It is scheduled on your phone, by default at 9 PM. Its time and wording may be changed through Firebase Remote Config.
- “Upkestra news”: app updates and important notices
- “Upkestra offers”: occasional ads, offers, and promotions
News and offer notifications are received through Firebase Cloud Messaging topics (news, offers, and a topic for your phone language). A notification we send is delivered at the same time to every device subscribed to that topic.
Turning off “Upkestra notifications” in “Settings” turns off all notifications and removes the topic subscriptions. Turning off only the “Upkestra offers” channel in Android settings removes only the offers topic subscription. Optimization keeps working even if you decline notifications.
4. Third-party services and international transfers
Upkestra AI entrusts the processing of information to the companies below. They may process information on servers outside Korea (mainly in the United States). Information is encrypted and sent over the internet while you use the app.
- Google LLC (United States), Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform: showing and measuring ads, preventing fraud, and managing ad consent. Processes IP address (to estimate approximate location), interactions such as app launches, taps, and video views, diagnostics such as app launch time and hang rate, and the advertising ID and app set ID. Depending on your region, a Google ad consent screen may appear when you first open the app. Retention follows Google’s policies.
- Google LLC (United States), Google Analytics for Firebase: checking that the product works. Processes the app instance ID, app opens and sessions, app and OS version, device category, country or region inferred from the network, install source (Google Play Install Referrer), and predefined events (optimization start and completion, permission outcomes, apps checked, apps prepared, run time, and notification received, shown, and opened stages). The advertising ID may also be processed unless you have limited it in your phone settings. App names, package names, usage records, AI scores, and app lists are not sent, and retention is 14 months.
- Google LLC (United States), Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivering news and offer notifications. Processes the notification token, phone language, and subscribed topics.
- Google LLC (United States), Firebase Remote Config: fetches whether the daily reminder is on and its time and wording. The Firebase installation ID and app information are processed for this.
- Google LLC (United States), Google Play: the review prompt. Google Play shows it directly, and Upkestra AI does not receive whether you wrote a review or what it says.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): serving this policy web page. It counts visits without cookies (Cloudflare Web Analytics).
Each company’s policy: Google Privacy Policy, Firebase Privacy and Security, Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Upkestra AI never passes your app list, usage records, or what the on-device AI has learned to an ad network or any other third party.
If you do not want your information transferred abroad, you can stop using and uninstall the app.
5. Permissions and features
- Usage access (optional): used only for “AI personalized optimization”.
- Notifications: daily reminders, news, offers, and optimization progress
- Run after boot (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): reschedules the daily reminder after the phone restarts, the time changes, or the app is updated. Nothing is scheduled if notifications are off.
- Foreground service (short task): shows progress in the “Optimization status” notification while optimization runs.
- Quick Settings tile “Optimize apps”: runs optimization from Quick Settings without opening the app.
- Internet and network state: used only for ads, usage statistics, notifications, and Remote Config. Optimization itself does not use the network.
6. Retention and deletion
Because we do not run an Upkestra server, we keep no user information of our own. Information on your phone is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app, which also resets the Firebase app instance.
- Usage access: revoking it in Android settings deletes the learned data.
- Notifications: “Upkestra notifications” in “Settings”, or Android notification settings
- Advertising ID: you can reset or delete it in Android settings.
- Information processed by Google: kept and deleted according to each Google service’s settings and Google’s policies.
7. Your rights
Please email us any request to access, correct, delete, or stop the processing of personal information, or any question. We reply within 10 days of confirming the request, and for information processed by Google we point you to the relevant Google option.
8. Children
Upkestra AI is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If features or third-party services change, we update this policy and post it on this page with its effective date.
